Tourism New Zealand’s general manager Australia Tony Saunders is leaving the agency.
Saunders joined Tourism New Zealand in 2012 as its regional marketing communications manager for Australia. He has been general manager for the past four years.
Tourism New Zealand said that during his tenure, Australia has delivered consistent arrivals volume and value growth.
Saunders achieved this by “establishing highly effective touring campaigns, increasing the focus on special interest experiences, working with multiple key opinion leaders and media, and activating large-scale trade initiatives”.
Tourism New Zealand chief executive Stephen England-Hall said: “Tony leaves the Australia business in an excellent position for his successor who will be announced in due course.”
Saunders is joining an international travel-related company, launching in Australia next year, said Tourism New Zealand.
His last day with Tourism New Zealand is 19 January, 2018.
