Around 250 tourism industry professionals will be heading to the Hawke’s Bay next year after the region secured the Tourism Export Council Conference 2018.
The two-day event will be held at the Napier Conference Centre on 8-9 August.
“It was a very hard decision,” said TEC chief executive Judy Chen as she announced the venue at yesterday’s TEC Xmas Symposium at SkyCity in Auckland.
General manager of Hawke’s Bay Tourism, Annie Dundas, said she was thrilled that region had won the event.
“The team have put together an incredible famil programme so please don’t just come for two days of conference.”
Napier’s Museum Theatre Gallery will host the opening afternoon of the event with the first evening of the conference to be held at Craggy Range winery.
“This is one of our signature wineries and an incredible visitor experience so a fantastic showcase of food and wine on the first night of the conference,” said Dundas.
A black-tie Prohibition Party will be held on the second night at the conference centre. Famils such as cycle wine trails, vintage car tours, art deco walking tours, a gannet safari and a golfing day will be on offer.
